Overview
Career Connect+ is a program designed to encourage and support registered clubs and organizations hosting career readiness events that prepare students for life after college. Through this program, clubs and organizations can receive funding of up to $500 to plan and execute professional development events for the campus community, as well as marketing support or any other necessary resources during the planning and execution of the event.
Program Goals
- Increase access to career preparation opportunities for students
- Encourage student-led professional development initiatives
- Support events that build career skills, confidence, and connections
- Strengthen collaboration between student organizations and career resources such as the Student Career Center.
Who can apply?
Registered student clubs and organizations
Funding Details
- Approved organizations can receive up to $500 to support their career readiness event
- Approved funds will be disbursed through the organization’s CatLife account
- Funds expire 30 days after the event
- Approved funds may be used for, but not limited to:
- Event materials and supplies
- Guest speaker honorariums
- Professional development resources
- Refreshments
What qualifies as a career readiness event?
Career readiness events are activities that help students prepare for professional success. Examples include:
- Resume or cover letter workshops
- Mock interviews or interview preparation sessions
- Career panels with industry professionals or alumni
- Networking events or career mixers
- Career exploration or industry insight workshops

- A career-related event planned (workshop, panel, employer or alumni engagement, or networking event)
- A confirmed event date, time, and location (in-person or hybrid)
- A clear event description and career-related topic
- An estimated attendance number
- A detailed budget breakdown, including how much funding you are requesting (up to $500 or less, if needed) and what the funds will be used for
- A promotion plan (how you will market the event to students)
- A draft flyer or promotional material (if available)

This workshop connected students with internship opportunities, application guidance, and mentorship. Attendees heard from graduate students who shared their internship experiences and offered tips for navigating the application process.

Polish and Publish: Resume & LinkedIn Lab presented by Delta Sigma Pi
Delta Sigma Pi hosted a Résumé and LinkedIn Workshop featuring career center specialists as guest speakers. Students received guidance on improving their résumés and LinkedIn profiles, learned effective formatting strategies, and gained tips on building a stronger professional presence to stand out to employers.

MedTech Industry Workshop presented by the Biomedical Engineering Society
Guest speaker Sindhiya Arora led a session on how to stand out in the MedTech industry. Attendees learned about key traits employers look for, practical ways to gain real-world experience, and common pitfalls to avoid when navigating the job search process. The event concluded with a live Q&A and an opportunity for students to schedule a complimentary one-on-one mentoring session.
