The Advancing STEM Intern, as part of the NSF-CREST Center for Cellular and Biomolecular
Machines at UC Merced, will expand upon the center’s Broader Impacts programs to build a
suite of engaging virtual resources (synchronous/asynchronous). The Intern will contribute to
bringing cutting-edge STEM research to the public and to maximizing engagement and impact
during the pandemic. The Intern will co-produce and co-moderate live session sand recordings
focused on scientific research and careers, through talks and interviews with scientists, as well
as the Science for Humanity Series. Finally, the Intern will co-plan virtual spring and summer
2021 K-12 programs.
